I was extraordinarily lucky to have collaborated with Creative Consultant Fern Berman & Audio Producer & Engineer Jerome Fox, without whom this simply wouldn’t be. Thanks too to Timothy Kane, who is a fine boom op.
Please take 29 minutes to listen. And if you like what you hear, please take a moment to PLEDGE in support of the show’s future. $10, $20- anything you can give will help. I really mean this.
If you have a dream you plan in the car on the way to your mortgage-paying job- if you write screenplays on the subway, paint on Saturday nights, if you have a vision board- or thought about making one, or envision a different life when you lie awake in bed at night, you’ll understand what it means to me to have made this. It is the creative culmination of 40 years of passionate living and eating- And, although I never dreamed the medium would be radio, I now cannot imagine it having begun any other way. Thank you.

FOODIE FATALE with Jocelyn Ruggiero is a new genre of radio, a food program unlike any other in the country. FOODIE FATALE chronicles host Jocelyn Ruggiero’s passionate encounters with everything edible; each episode focuses on a culinary adventure exploring people, places and foods – bringing the visceral pleasure of taste and discovery to listeners.
In this launch special, the first in a series, Jocelyn visits Behan Family Farm on Ninigret Pond in Charlestown, RI, where she learns how their Ninigret Nectar Oyster is produced. Next, Road Food‘s Michael Stern and Jocelyn taste these sweet, luscious Ninigret Nectars at Mystic, CT’s Oyster Club, where Chef James Wayman prepares the oysters in a variety of enticing ways. Michael and Jocelyn make the experience live for the listener in a way one can almost not imagine possible on a radio show.
